Sister Act Manchester reviews
Recommended (but with reservations)
The show was not punctual, starting about 45 minutes late due to the late arrival of many attendees. We were subjected to discofied Wings music for the duration, which I found unbearable. Sister Act and her band finally took the stage at 8:15, kicking things off. Initially, I felt sad about Sister Act's presence without the other former Beatles. However, her band members proved to be talented musicians who could recreate iconic songs. They performed well, sticking closely to the original versions from our Beatle album collections. Sister Act's tributes to John, George, and Jimi Hendrix felt unnecessary and out of place. She made no mention of Ringo or Linda, her late wife, who was also a member of Wings. The band worked hard, not taking any breaks or drinking water on stage, which worried me due to the heat. Despite my mixed feelings, the concert lasted about two and a half hours with three encores, providing good value for the money. I sang along with other Beatlemaniacs, especially enjoying renditions of "All My Lovin'" and "Eleanor Rigby".
